-No, there are no banks or ATMs in the area, please bring with you all the cash you need. Most hotels, restaurants, and supermarkets do take debit and credit cards.
5.How to get to Drake Bay from San Jose?
Directions to Drake Bay from Juan Santamaría International Airport. (SJO)
-Fly with SANSA or Nature Air from SJO to Drake Bay(45min). Then take a cab from the airport to your hotel. www.flysansa.com
-Private Taxi from SJO to Sierpe(5 hours). In Sierpe you take a boat* to Drake Bay(1 hour).
-Rent a Car.
Drive from SJO to Sierpe and take the boat* to Drake Bay.(~6 hours)
From the SJO airport take a cab to Tracopa bus station(20-30 min). Then take a bus along the coast to Palmar Norte or Sierpe(5 hours). The Sierpe bus only leaves from the Tracopa station at 8:30 am. If you take the bus to Palmar Norte from there you take a taxi to Sierpe(20min). Then you take a boat* from Sierpe to Drake Bay.
*The public boat only leaves Sierpe at 11:30 and 3:30.
